The 2008 Bishop’s Mission Fund

"I hope that you will join me in making a gift to the mission fund and encourage others to the do same. Gifts to the 2008 Mission Fund will support important Delaware outreach and service ministries. This year the Bishop’s Mission Fund will provide essential sponsorship for three ministries making a difference here:

First Steps/Primeros Pasos Early Childhood Education Center (Georgetown)

"This new ministry for young children and their parents opened its doors last year. First Steps/Primeros Pasos offers quality, affordable day care. It prepares young children for later success in elementary education. Your gift to the 2008 Bishop’s Mission Fund will be a blessing to these children and their families.

Latino Congregation at Trinity Parish (Wilmington)

"At noontime on Sundays a growing congregation fills the chapel of this downtown Wilmington church. Led by the Rev. Juan George, this Spanish-speaking ministry provides spiritual and pastoral care to an underserved community. Your gift to the 2008 Bishop’s Mission Fund will underwrite needed programs and services.

Episcopal Prison Chaplain (Sussex County)

"Since 2002 the Rev. David Archibald has made weekly visits to the Sussex Correctional Facility. He celebrates the Holy Eucharist with prisoners and counsels these forgotten members of society. Your gift to the 2008 Bishop’s Mission Fund will provide continued support for this faithful ministry of the Episcopal Church.

"Contributions to the Bishop’s Fund may be sent by mail to our office here in Wilmington or click here to make an on-line credit card donation to the Bishop's Mission Fund.

"Your gifts and personal encouragement will help make the mission fund a success again this year. Thank you again for your generosity and support."

Faithfully, Wayne Wright, Bishop of Delaware
