Brotherhood of St. Andrew
The Brotherhood of St. Andrew is a worldwide ministry of Anglican men, led by laymen, with one purpose: the spread of Christ’s kingdom. In order to achieve that purpose, all “Brothers Andrew” commit to practice three disciplines.
- First and most importantly, daily prayer. All worthwhile purposes for Christians begin with prayer.
- Secondly, regular study of the scriptures and the teachings of the church.
- Finally, the practice of continuous service.
In the Diocese of Delaware, the Brotherhood of St. Andrew has recently experienced a modest but growing resurgence. Two chapters have been installed in the past few years. One at Christ Church, Milford and the other at St. Luke’s, Seaford. Both chapters have placed emphasis on Bible study as one of their primary interests. St. Luke’s conducts weekly study sessions, while Christ Church conducts Bible study for the residents of the Delaware Veterans Home in Milford, which has now become the longest continuously running religious program at that facility.
