A clever, eye-catching e-newsletter.

Here is an excellent example of how writing and graphics can be effective and entertaining. Christ Church, Dover, sent out this e-newsletter in August, 2011 using MailChimp.

Hey we may be 308 years old but we're a young 308!

We will "friend" anyone!

If Caesar Rodney were alive today, our former vestryman wouldn't ride anywhere without Facebook and YouTube mobile apps on his Smart Phone.  Especially so he can check in with his local parish and not miss upcoming events such as the Blessing of the Backpacks and the August 18 discussion of our vision for our church's future. Take advantage of our social media to keep up with upcoming events and photos and videos of events just passed.  Social media are an evangelism tool - we hope you encourage your friends, neighbors, co-workers and relatives to check out Christ Church.

Find us on Facebook.

Christ Church Dover has a main Facebook page for all members and a second one for the Christ Church Youth Group.

Photos from our New Orleans mission trip will be posted to the main Facebook page beginning Monday, August 1.  We could use a few more friends, so go there and "Like" us!

Tune in to You Tube.

We also have our own YouTube channel with 16 videos, including the 2011 Pentecost Picnic

Watch your fellow parishioners limbo, do the Macarena, cha-cha and chow down. We look like we're having fun. Former stewardship videos such as "Would it Matter?" and "Make the World Turn Around" are there.  So is a tribute to the late Father Michael Mayer and the teens who participated in the 30-Hour Famine.

Did we mention our website?

www.christchurchdover.org is like a virtual church.  Besides keeping parishioners informed about parish life, stewardship and ministries, it offers a window into the life and work of our church to people who haven't been here yet and may be seeking.  There are plenty of videos, photos and even sermons to capture the essence of Christ Church.  Refer a co-worker, friend or neighbor to the site.  It's almost as good as inviting them to church on Sunday - which should be your next step.

What, no Twitter?

We'll get there soon. We're still figuring it out.
